Sump Pumps
A sump pump moves groundwater collecting in the sump pit away from the foundation. When it fails, the first sign is often water on the basement floor.
Many Niagara Falls homes have full basements, and spring melt combined with heavy rain raises the water table around the foundation. Weeping tile directs that water to the sump pit, and the pump's job is to discharge it before it rises to floor level.
Stuck or tangled float switches, worn motors, clogged intakes, a discharge line blocked or frozen at the outlet, and pumps that run constantly or not at all. Age matters too — pumps are mechanical and don't last indefinitely.
An inspection covers the pump operation, float, check valve, discharge routing and the pit itself. Where replacement is appropriate, we size and install a pump suited to the pit and the volume of water the system handles.
